Lawrenceburg Fire Department Special Operations Team

Dive and Rescue   

           

In 1998, our divers found that we were getting calls from public safety departments requesting our assistance. We have always done what we could to support these activities and out of those actions we have formed a SAR Team which in 2002 became part of the current organization of:

    Lawrenceburg Fire Department   

Special Operations Unit

Our Team has completed a wide range of operations in the limited time we have been together, following are some of our operations:

* Boats            * Trailers

* Lake/Pond Drain Repairs and underwater inspections and photography

2003 Call-outs

Assist Giles Co. With two body recoveries

Assist Lawrence Co. with body recovery

2004 Call-outs

Recent missions include assisting Scottsboro, Al. with body recovery.

Then one week later assisting Perry Co. Tennessee with body recovery in Lobelville.

   2005 Call-outs    

Recovered pickup truck from Tennessee River outside of Clifton, Tn.

Recovered SUV, boat trailer and boat from duck river in Maury Co. the night of the Super Bowl. My team lost and it was a great recovery. Water temps in mid 40's.

Recovered a body from Arrow Lake in Maury Co. after boating accident that cost the lives of two fishermen.

Searched a pond for 2 year old lost child for TBI, no body found. Child located next morning in woods.
